I love this idea! I went to a French elementary school so I grew up speaking French. When I got to my English high school, and was taking regular core French, and definitely noticed a big difference in the oral abilities of students. I like how you did a bunch of different courses. It was also really helpful that you gave a little review of the apps so others who are interested in learning another language. I would have liked to hear you say a couple phrases in French!

I like that you told a personal story - a very sweet touch that makes your choice of genius hour more meaningful. Hey Daniel! i really like your motivation for choosing your genius hour topic. Being in the same position as you and only having done french up until grade 9, i constantly wonder if its worth re-learning it and whether or not i would be able to even learn it to the degree where i can use it in a place like Montreal or France. Its really cool how you used something as simple as phone apps as the foundation for your learning and had some decent results from these alone. Great work on your Ted talk, i really enjoyed learning all about it.
